It starts serious but gets better....honest!

This month there has been a few hearts broken and more than a few tear shed. The combined deaths of some of the greatest actors of all time Richard Attenborough and Robin Williams.

One of my favourite Christmas films was Miracle on 34th Street so I'll always remember Richard Attenborough warm portrayal of Santa Claus. I also recently found out that he played the circus owner in the original Doctor Dolittle film alongside Rex Harrison.
Robin Williams was the genie, a cross dressing nanny, a professor, a president and the boy who was never supposed to grow up, grown up. He was a great comedic star whose brightness will never fade.

August also made racism less transparent when Michael Brown was unlawfully shot by a white policeman in Ferguson. The resulting peaceful protests have resulted in police armed with rubber bullets and tear gas. Hopefully his family will get their faith restored soon.

On the 3rd the world commemorated the start of world war one 100 years ago across the nation people turned off all lights save for a single flickering candle.

This month also seemed the start of a new trend the ALS ice bucket challenge. Originally a fun thing among friends it has since raised awareness for the disease with the help of tons of celebrities donning a wet icy shower and donating last I heard people have raised nearly £20 million.
to find out more about the disease and the challenge go here.

A few of my personal favourites
James Mcavoy

Benedict Cumberbatch

I have been introduced to a youtube channel called google translate sings. Basically a super talented singer puts well known stage and pop songs through many layers of google translate the result is often a confused mish mash of various words its very funny though.
